Next Meeting- Leave No Trace Monday Aug 24

Posted by drrank on Aug 18 2020 - 11:02am

We had a great first full Troop Meeting this past Monday .  We were able to organize all patrol boxes and inventory all tents while having some fun as well. Scouts participating in cooking requirements for our Sept 12 outing at Hickory Nut Grove Riverfront will be using the patrol boxes.  We had almost 50% scout participation which is great.  Masks were used the entire night and hand sanitizer was available and used at the end of the meeting.  Zach Van Maren ranked up to "Scout" class..

Troop Meeting Restart

Posted by drrank on Aug 10 2020 - 4:02pm
This is the time of year when the troop would start normal meetings.  Since we do not have an indoor space at this time, we will be doing things outside. Current Blackhawk Council guidelines allow meetings of up to 50 people if social distancing is maintained.  Masks are required if social distancing is not possible and should always be brought to our meetings. Hand sanitizer will be available. Ongoing Monday meetings  will occur during our normal meeting time of 7pm-8:30pm.  As in the past, side meetings such as Patrol Leaders Council may occur at 6pm. For now,  I am enabling signups for each Monday meeting topic so I have a better understanding of any youth/adult leadership requirements before each meeting.  All members of the troop are invited/encouraged to attend Monday meetings and scheduled troop activities.   I do not see camping in the near future but we will continue to organize monthly weekend hikes or other activities where some of your scout skills can be used.
